The Dub Arena at Upper Malone will host a crunch tie between Queen’s and Maynooth this Thursday evening as the Senior Football League’s knock-out stages get under way. Queen’s earned a home draw in this quarter final thanks to a perfect record in the group phase, taking out both the reigning Sigerson Cup champions St Mary’s and runners-up UCD in the first round, before recording a memorable home win over perennial rivals UUJ to secure top spot in Group B.

This year’s squad is backboned by Elite Athlete Progamme scholars Ryan Burns (Management MA), Emmett Bradley (Software Engineering MA), Niall Keenan (Chemical Engineering), and James McMahon (Business Management), while graduates from last year’s talented Freshers’ side have added pace and cunning forward play in the form of Niall Scullion (Actuarial Science and Risk Management) and Tiarnan Rushe (Health Physical Activity and Sport).

The current panel is comprised of some 60 players from across the entire academic spectrum at Queen’s, including postgraduates, medics, engineers, teachers, and arts and humanities.
